Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026. These Terms govern your use of OpenSAFETY.iO (“Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

OpenSAFETY.iO provides pharmacovigilance and drug-safety intelligence tools for professional users (including Marketing Authorisation Holders and their teams). Contact: ceo@opensafety.io.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old (or the higher age of digital consent in your country) and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for accurate registration information, safeguarding credentials, and all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable use

  • • Use the Service only for lawful professional pharmacovigilance and related purposes
  • • Do not attempt to breach security, scrape abusively, or disrupt the Service
  • • Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or personal data of others without a lawful basis
  • • Do not reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted by law

4. Professional use and no medical advice

The Service supports literature screening, signal exploration, and related workflows. Outputs (including AI-assisted analysis) are decision-support tools only—not medical, legal, or regulatory advice. You remain responsible for clinical/regulatory judgments and compliance with applicable PV obligations.

5. AI features

Optional AI features may send literature text or prompts to third-party model providers (e.g. Google Gemini) to generate analysis. Do not submit unnecessary personal data into AI prompts. See the Privacy Policy for processor details.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create (notes, reviews, reports). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service. You represent you have rights to the content you submit.

7. Third-party data sources

The Service may retrieve data from public or third-party sources (e.g. PubMed, Europe PMC, openFDA/FAERS). Those sources have their own terms; availability and accuracy are not guaranteed by us.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, security risk, or legal requirement. You may delete your account at any time in Settings (subject to legal retention where required). Provisions that by nature should survive (liability limits, IP, governing law) survive termination.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or zero if the Service is free). Nothing excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Privacy

Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with an updated date. Material changes may be communicated in-product or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
